1st March 06. Star trails over a local landmark - Chesterton Windmill.

I've been aiming to shoot a star trail picture like this for a while, but the right conditions are few and far between. This is an exposure totalling 1 hour - comprising of 30x 2 minute shots digitally 'stacked' in Photoshop. After processing an image like this I'm always amazed at the number of trails - there are many faint stars in the final image that you can't see by the naked eye. It's an amazing universe we live in.
