My effort at recording the Lunar Eclipse last night. Shot with a 200/2.8+1.4xTC on a 1.6 crop body. (my longest option), mirror lockup and remote release

I learnt a lot :)

The moon certainly tracks by pretty quickly - I found any with any exposure longer than a couple of seconds I was getting unacceptable motion blur, so I was having to up the ISO more than I'd have preferred.

The other thing that caught me out was not maintaining a consistent horizontal level as I tracked - so my shots ended up with varying rotation that needed correcting in post.

Focus was pretty difficult too - I think a magnifying angle finder would have been really helpful.

It was a fun exercise - and more involved than I expected.
